Portugal Travel Guide

Before I visited Portugal, I didn’t know anything about it aside from the names of a few 15th and 16th century explorers. I’d heard good things about Portugal from a friend of mine who visits often as her husband is Portuguese, but really we decided on Portugal as our first overseas trip post cancer recovery for a couple of practical reasons: it’s easy to get to with direct 6 hour flights from NYC, and it didn’t take too many points to fly there on business class. But after just a couple of days there, I fell in love with this country. The narrow, winding cobbled streets of Lisbon made me feel like I was entering another time, yet every cuisine in the world was available to us (including amazing vegetarian dishes!) as Lisbon is truly cosmopolitan. The ocean, the views, the wine, the number of times I googled “how to emigrate to Portugal…” Anyway, here are some of tips for my favorite country in the world.

What I Learned About Portuguese Wine: A Love Letter to Vinho Verde

Before my trip to Portugal, my knowledge of Portuguese wine was mostly limited to Port (that’s why you go to Portugal, right??)
