About

Hi, I’m Rachelle—welcome to my corner of the internet.

Though I feel like I’m a bit late to the blogging game, here I am. After spending the last 15 years solely focused on my post-graduate education, building a career, and too stressed out with work and kids to plan as much travel as I wanted (I could always do that someday, when the kids are older and when life slows down), I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 35. The diagnosis makes life stop suddenly on a dime (was it the universe’s way of telling me to slow down?) and you start re-evaluating how you’re spending your time.

Healing from cancer treatment doesn’t occur overnight – it took a year to recover physically, emotionally, and financially. But now, I’m here with a new intention to take the trips now. Not when the economy is better, not when the kids are older.

But also to travel more slowly. More intentionally. With a deep appreciation for nature, good food and wine, whether I’m hiking a quiet trail, sampling wine in a hillside town, or cozying up in a thoughtfully designed hotel.

This blog is my way of documenting and sharing those moments. I also plan to focus on:

  • Off-season travel that skips the crowds but keeps the charm
  • Nature-forward destinations with beautiful landscapes
  • Local food and wine experiences that feel authentic
  • Mid-range hotels with thoughtful touches of luxury
  • Trips with kids that are relaxed and fun
  • Couples getaways that help us reconnect

I’m not here to check boxes or chase the perfect Instagram shot. I’m here to travel well—and help you do the same.

💜 Rachelle
